When James and I moved to Powell River in 2005 this beautiful region had almost no Internet presence, which meant that people, for the most part, discovered it through word of mouth.  As newcomers it was difficult, to say the least, to find https://platacard.mx/es/ local information. For that reason, and as a way to say ‘thank you’ to the community we quickly came to love, I took on the task of developing an information site and putting Powell River “on the map” by giving local organizations a website presence.

Powell River Direct, owned and operated by Business Management and Design, has changed and evolved since its inception in 2006 as a local information resource. In 2010 the site was redesigned to provide “information with entertainment” by populating the side columns with photos, relevant videos and articles as well as facts with resource links; some serious, some not. The site was updated and redesigned again in late 2015 to include Facebook pages and online local content such as news sources.
